Residential Alarm Monitoring

Houston Alarm MonitoringOnDuty Systems provides alarm monitoring for your home for burglary, fire, and panic 24-hours a day, and can dispatch the authorities in case of an emergency.

We are a fully licensed Security Company who does not use subcontractors for service and installation.  All of our technicians are fully vetted including background checks and polygraph testing.

Most Home Insurance companies will give you a 15% discount when you give them our Certificate of Monitoring. This savings helps defray the monthly cost of monitoring.

The monthly cost of monitoring is determined by several factors. If you have a POTS (plain old telephone system) line or a VOIP (voice over Internet Protocol), your alarm monitoring setup cost should be less because the communication paths already exist.

Today’s modern alarm systems are monitored by ‘single’ or ‘dual-path’ communications via Internet and Cellular networks that transmit to the alarm monitoring station. These methods are far superior to the conventional POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) or VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) transmissions. The use of both Cellular and Internet (Dual Path) communications provides:

  • Redundant Signaling (Internet and Cellular)
  • Extremely fast in relaying alarm signals
  • Allows high speed interaction for smart phone virtual keypad
  • Can’t be tampered with or disabled by an intruder cutting phone lines when Cellular is utilized

Redundant Communications

There are several ways an alarm system can communicate to the monitoring center for alarm activation notifications. The most popular way in the past was communication over POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) lines.

Our plans include the monitoring of your alarm using “dual path” communication protocols, meaning cellular and Internet/WiFi.  We offer three (3) different add-ons.

  1. The first is the ability to control your system remotely using a keypad app on your smart phone.
  2. The second is the ability to get text and email alerts of system activity.
  3.  The last option is a service agreement that covers all alarm components from normal wear and tear.

Redundancy is very important!  Many home burglars cut phone and cable lines before entering a home.  This means a security system dependent on communicating by these methods will fail to work.  Our cellular backup system provides your system communication with battery backup as well.

OnDuty’s Underwriters’ Laboratories (UL) Listed Alarm Monitoring Center provides rapid and expert alarm signal monitoring. In case of an alarm signal being received, the Alarm Monitoring Center can notify the police, fire, and/or private security agencies. In addition, persons in control of the property can be notified by an alarm dispatcher when an emergency condition arises.
